Frequently Asked Questions by Mission Groups

1. How long will we be in New Orleans?
Most mission groups make their trips to New Orleans for one week. However, we can work out shorter or longer trips based on the best dates available to you.

2. What will we be doing in New Orleans?
There are several options: Vacation Bible Schools, evangelistic outreach, block parties, helping local residents, door to door ministries, building Habitat homes, and rebuilding projects.

3. How much will the trip cost?
A sheet is enclosed that gives a detailed explanation of the Average Cost per Person with different scenarios for churches.

4. Will we be working with another group?
It will depend on the size of your group and the mission work that will be done. For example, if you help build homes, it will likely involve several groups working together.

5. Who will we coordinate with to work out the details?
Each church or organization has a specific contact person you will be connected with to discuss all the details.

6. Are there evening worship activities?
Yes. There is a community worship service on Thursday evening and local church activities on Wednesday evening. Other worship times can be organized by the mission group.

7. When do we have to register by? Where do we send the Registration Fee?
Please register early. This will provide time for planning your mission trip. Registration Deadlines are listed with each week. Registration Fee amounts are located in the Mission Love Never Fails Budget.
Please make the Registration Fee out to “Mission Love Never Fails” and send it to
Mission Love Never Fails, P.O. Box 331122, Fort Worth, TX 76163.

8. Is this mission trip for student groups only?
The mission trip is open to everyone, including youth, college, singles, families, seniors, as well as any combination of these groups.

9. How will we be partnered up with a church in the greater New Orleans area?
When we know what kind of mission projects you want to do, we can connect you to a church that has those needs.

10. What do we need to bring to New Orleans?
This is something that will need to be discussed specifically with the host church you are helping. More information is available in the Mission Love Never Fails Mission Trip Guide you will receive.

11. Is it safe to do a mission trip to New Orleans?
Many groups have already been down to New Orleans to do mission work and thousands have come away with very rewarding mission experiences.

12. How is the New Orleans area? How many people live in New Orleans now?
Most of the city is now rebuilding. Jobs are plentiful and people are kind, but there is stress from losing so much, rebuilding, and trying to get by. The areas just minutes west of New Orleans are packed. There are still some areas greatly in need, namely New Orleans East, the Ninth Ward, and St. Bernard’s parish. The greater New Orleans area had approximately 1.3 million people before Hurricane Katrina. Current population for the area is approximately 1.1 million, with 325,000 in New Orleans, 450,000 in Metairie and Kenner, and 325,000 in surrounding areas. New Orleans was reported last year as the fastest growing city in America!
